A Long Island bagel shop is trending on the internet with more than 20 million views on Twitter after a rant by a customer was caught on camera.
The bizarre rant was recorded Thursday morning at Bagel Boss on Montauk Highway in Bay Shore.
The 45-second clip shows the man yelling at a female customer before being tackled by a larger man in the store.
In the video, the man can be heard saying, “Why is it OK for women to say, oh, you’re five feet on dating sites, you should be dead. That’s OK?”
According to workers, the man, who’s about five feet tall, went into a fit of rage almost instantly.
They say he was set off when a worker smiled at him, apparently thinking she was mocking of him for being short.
The man can then be seen threatening another customer until he’s ultimately tackled by someone else in line.
News 12 spoke to Morgan Thursday afternoon. He said he has fallen on hard times recently and lost his temper. He had this to say about the incident:
“I’m tired of women using me, abusing me, lying to my face, tell me you like me on dates and then you take my money, cut me off, say I’m too short when you’re my height. It’s ridiculous. And when you add all that up, I snap.”
It turns out, this is not the first time he has gone on a rant about his height.
The man posted two videos of himself on YouTube back in May, at a 7-Eleven. He was apparently upset because a worker there asked him how tall he was.
News 12 spoke with one of the employees at Bagel Boss who says she was working when the incident happened and was afraid he going to get violent.
Nobody was hurt during the incident, and no charges have been filed.
However, Bagel Boss is apparently taking the incident in stride. They are giving away free mini bagels to anyone who mentions the video.
